I
remembered how happy and excited my mates were while setting the decorations
inside our Human Resources Department office. Valentine's Day was approaching.
I wished it was Christmas instead, where I can eat a lot.
The
office was about to look blue when a cute girl in a yellow blouse and tight
jeans entered our department. Some of my officemates turned their eyes to her
while she approached my table.
She
would've failed right away by what she wore, but I kept on staring at her blue
eyes. She smiled when I noticed how smitten I was. It was then she brought out
her resume. I was floored.
Alice
Levden was her name. She graduated from Sorbonne University.
She worked part-time in a restaurant during her college days. She was the
hottest French chick I ever met. I didn't listen much to what she said, as her
accented English charmed me.
I
was thinking of kissing her when my boss shouted my name. He stood a few meters
away from my table. I couldn't tell if he didn't like the way I interviewed
her. The grumpy old man is not the type
to bend any office rules. He approached my table and browsed through Alice's resume. He frowned when he looked at
her job experience.
He
told Alice
right away that he would think about her application, and then call her a few
days afterwards. She sensed that she won't be hired, but she didn't show her
disappointment. She was rather courteous and charming when she thanked us for
accommodating her. When the door closed, my boss scolded me for not being
objective. I felt indifferent because I was able to memorize her contact
number.
